If you haven’t seen the new Star Trek Picard yet need not worry I’m not going to spoil it for you. It’s everything a Trekkie could want from this team of actors and artists. It’s like watching a mini-movie. A lot of action in the first episode. It’s not slow. You already see that he has changed and gone through a lot through his career.

If you don’t like Star Trek Picard, you’re a beast from another planet. For Sir Patrick Stewart to return and do the job of portraying this character again at this age and stage of life is true dedication to his craft and to the Star Trek community.  We should applaud him for doing this for the community. That is all for this commentary. Make it so!

Star Trek Picard coming this fall…

To boldly go where no one has gone before…(Star Trek TNG theme). Yes, I’m a Trekkie geek. In 2018, there was an announcement made in Las Vegas by the showrunner Alex Kurtzman, the current Star Trek (Discovery) incarnation of the TV franchise boss. While standing onstage, Mr. Kurtzman mentions that he wasn’t the right guy to make this announcement. The rear door opens and walla! The man, the actor Sir Patrick Stewert appears to a roaring standing ovation of delightment.
Sir Patrick goes on to tell the stories of how Star Trek changed his life. It included fans coming up to him to say “thank you for telling that story” or “I became a scientist because of Star Trek.” There are pitfalls of portraying a well-loved, fictional Starfleet Captain in the Hollywood mixing bowl. He recalled a director saying “Why would I want Captain Picard” in my movie? This recall from him was just as heartbreaking for any artist and a fan.
During this surprise stage appearance in Las Vegas, there was a story about how a policeman had told him that he would watch re-runs of Star Trek TNG, how he would imagine that one day that there would be no need to worry about money, food or shelter. For Sir Patrick Stewert, this made his mind up. Picard is back!
Since the 2018 announcement, there have been some leaked or planned release of stills from the filming of the new series Star Trek Picard. Now, cut to July 2019 San Diego Comic-Con convention. The release of the official trailer. Delighted is an understatement. Well worth, the money to watch CBS All Access (Bloggingbee has no affiliation with CBS, Inc) this Fall.
