Kamala Harris, born in Oakland, California; Dad was from Jamaica and Mother from India. Ms. Harris grew up in the California city of which she was born. Ms. Harris has recited stories of being bussed to her schools and not having a lot when growing up. She was witness to multiple counts of racism and systematic problems in policing. She made a decision to pursue a career in law; In 2003, she was elected as district attorney of San Francisco. In 2010 she was elected as California attorney general and re-elected again in 2014.
In 2016, Ms. Harris become the second African-American, but first South Asian woman to serve in the U.S. Senate. As a senator, she has supported healthcare reform. She has gained a national profile for her pointed questioning of administration officials of Donald Trump during Senate hearings.
Joe Biden, former Vice President under Barack Obama is no stranger to the stage as well. Mr. Biden served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. He was the Senate representative of the State of Delaware from 1973 until 2009. A long term member of the Democratic Party. Currently, Mr. Biden is the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee for the 2020 election cycle, running against the incumbent, Donald Trump. In 1988 and2008 Joe Biden unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination.
Joe Biden was raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and later in New Castle County, Delaware. He studied at both the University of Delaware and Syracuse Universities. He received his law degree from Syracuse University. He became a lawyer in 1969 and was elected to the New Castle County Council in 1970. He later was elected to the U.S. Senate Delaware in 1972. Making history by becoming the sixth-youngest senator in America. Mr. Biden was a longtime member and eventually chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He opposed the 1991 Gulf War.

Former President Obama and Biden were re-elected in 2012. During his time as Vice President, Biden oversaw infrastructure spending in 2009 to counteract the Great Recession.
In October 2015, Biden announced that he would not seek the presidency in the 2016 election. In January 2017, Obama awarded Biden the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Now the presumptive nominee for the Democratic ticket for 2020. On August 11, 2020, Biden announced that U.S. Senator Kamala Harris will be his running mate in the 2020 presidential election.
